Poster House is the first museum in the United States dedicated exclusively to the design and history of posters. Opening in June 2019 in New YorkCity, Poster House provides a space for inquiry for all those interested in design, advertising, and public interventions, with an aim to improve designliteracy among the general public. Through its robust permanent collection, progressive rotating exhibitions, community-centered events, andinnovative school programming, Poster House explores what posters say about society and how graphic design continues to impact the world with anemphasis on visual literacy.
Position Description:
The Educator of Adult Initiatives and Tour Logistics (EAITL) for Poster House oversees the logistics of tours and programs for K-12 grade schoolgroups, college groups, special needs groups, and adults-only groups. The EAITL collaborates with the Manager of Education to research and writetours and coordinate offerings for adult audiences and professional development opportunities. The EAITL will serve as the primary educator able todeliver tours to all audiences served.
This position reports to the Manager of Education. The regular schedule for this role is 10am-6pm Monday-Friday with flexibility for after-hours andweekend work as needed (approximately ten weekend days per year).

Job Requirements & Responsibilities:
– Coordinate with Director of Operations and Associate Director of Public Programs to schedule school and adult group bookings
– Be the primary educator for curatorial-style tours for adult groups regularly occurring during museum open hours and after hours
– Present monthly curatorial-style tours in Spanish as well as facilitate bilingual and Spanish-language tours for school groups
– Be an additional educator delivering interactive, inquiry-based tours for middle school, high school, and college groups
– Develop and run hands-on art/printmaking workshops to complement the tours
– Support accessibility and family programming as needed
– Manage both print and digital education department content including rack card, website content, and calendar
– Assist in the creation of Bloomberg Connects app content development including the creation of audio tours and accessible content on the platform
– Attend weekly staff meetings as well as other meetings as needed
– Assist with programmatic offerings during museum’s opening hours, including First Friday programming and occasional weekend programming
– Occasionally appear in museum’s social media videos in both Spanish and English
– Assist in the outreach and marketing of educational programs
Candidate Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
– Experience coordinating logistics and/or overseeing scheduling in a museum setting
– Experience working in informal education, especially with adults-only and multigenerational groups
– Experience leading dynamic, engaging tours
– Spanish language fluency and the ability to lead tours for all audiences in Spanish (please indicate fluency in other languages if applicable)
– Self-motivated and able to work alone and in a team environment
– Strong and engaging public speaking skills
– Project management experience, including time management, coordination, and organizational skills
– Flexibility with schedule across all seven days per week as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Museum Studies, History, Design History, Art History, or Fine Art field or equivalent experience
– Experience using Asana, Airtable, Square payment system, Google Suite/Google calendar, or similar project management digital tools
– Experience working in an art museum
– A strong interest in design history
– Experience producing print and digital content
